How We Make Your Handkerchief

Since 1965, Arihant Mills has made cotton handkerchiefs under one roof in Ichalkaranji, Maharashtra — India’s powerloom capital. From raw yarn to the packed box, every stage below happens in our own mill, under our own quality checks. That is what factory-direct really means.

STEP 01

Yarn Sourcing & Testing

We buy combed and carded cotton yarn directly from reputed spinning mills. Every incoming lot is lab-tested for count accuracy, CSP strength, evenness and moisture before it is accepted. Yarn that fails any parameter goes back to the supplier — quality control begins before the first thread is woven.

STEP 02

Warping & Sizing

On sectional warping machines, thousands of individual yarn ends are wound onto the warp beam in perfectly parallel order. The warp is then sized — coated to strengthen each thread so it withstands the stress of high-speed weaving without breakage or fuzzing.

STEP 03

Weaving

Our Toyota air-jet and Picanol / Vamatex rapier looms interlace warp and weft at high speed into tight, even cloth. Pick density, tension and width are tuned for every design, so each batch matches the approved construction exactly.

STEP 04

Processing

The woven grey fabric is desized, bleached and dyed in-house, then finished with stenter width-setting. This stabilises the fabric dimensions and locks in shade — so your handkerchief stays square and bright through years of washing.

STEP 05

Cutting & Hemming

Processed fabric is precision-cut to size, and every piece is hemmed on all four sides on lockstitch machines. The four-side hem keeps edges neat and prevents fraying through daily use and repeated washing.

STEP 06

Inspection

Every lot is checked piece by piece — size, GSM, stitch quality, weaving defects and shade matching against the approved sample. Anything that fails a checkpoint is pulled out. Only passed lots move to finishing.

STEP 07

Pressing & Folding

Steam pressing removes every crease, and each handkerchief is folded to a uniform size for a crisp, gift-ready presentation — the same neat fold, box after box.

STEP 08

Packing & Dispatch

Handkerchiefs are packed in poly bags or printed boxes, labelled by design and size, and the cartons are strapped for transit. From our mill floor in Ichalkaranji, they travel straight to distributors and customers across India.
